AquaDocLogoThe 2018 Entrepreneur of the Year award goes to John M. Wilson Junior, owner of Aqua Doc Lake and Pond Management in Munson Township.

Aqua Doc is a company dedicated to keeping lakes and ponds beautiful. Aqua Doc is staffed with biologists, licensed aquatic specialists and experts in fountain and aeration technology. The company has grown in revenue and employees 34 of the 35 years it’s been in business.

Since John M. Wilson Junior acquired Aqua Doc in the 1980s, he has inspired employees to be creative and to take risks. Those qualities have paid off with growing the business to five branches and more than 130 employees during the peak treatment season. By consistently promoting a positive mental attitude and willingness to try new approaches, Aqua Doc has achieved great success.

Aqua Doc has undertaken initiatives to maintain its position as an industry leader. The company developed an innovative high-volume and high-pressure system that delivers aquatic chemistries through subsurface injections. This method increases the application effectiveness over surface-spraying methods.

In addition, Aqua Doc continually educates its employees, not only during the peak season, but throughout the winter months. Its progressive five-level education program, Aqua Doc University, educates employees about the lake and pond management industry, and helps prepare new aquatic specialists to acquire their state applicator licenses.
